National Quality Indicators
Revised guidelines for SIR’s national quality indicators, following the guidelines for Swedish intensive care as well as the guideline for registering treatment strategies for life-sustaining treatment within Swedish intensive care, will be published at the beginning of 2026. More information will follow.
Intensive Care in Transition
The number of intensive care beds has decreased, as has the number of treatment episodes. Yet, while staffing challenges remain, there is a slight decline in the proportion of transfers due to resource shortages in Sweden. Has the pandemic changed Swedish intensive care? Changes in SIRI registration
We are resuming the registration of RSV in SIRI to monitor, together with the Public Health Agency of Sweden, the effectiveness of preventive treatment with monoclonal antibodies for children under three years of age. At the same time, we have conducted a review with the Public Health Agency of Sweden on how influenza and COVID-19 are registered.
