SIR works to gather documentation on the care requests of patients who may need intensive care. In a first step, it includes consultations that noted worsening of patients and discussion about the level of care and needs to be taken. These guidelines do not refer to emergency care requests arising due to acute life-threatening conditions. If this occurs for patients who have ongoing care requests, this should not be classed as an "ordinary assessment" but treated as an "alarm".
