Flu season 2020-2021

All patients with laboratory-verified influenza and covid-19 being treated in ICU should be reported to SIRI

The Public Health Agency is closely monitoring the spread of covid-19. Monitoring of the 2020-2021 flu season is now also underway.

Which cases should be reported to SIRI?

  • Patients with laboratory-verified influenza
  • Patients with laboratory verified covid-19
  • All care sessions shall be recorded, even if the same patient is at risk of being registered several times, or by several wards, during a re-entry or transport. This is partly because the reporting is matched to the reported care when it comes in to SIR, and then we can see total care time and e.g. all the measures that have been taken. Partly because the portal shows the number of registered care sessions i.e. reflects the reality of the burden on ICU. Double registrations of unique IDs will be culled by FoHM
