New type of care in SIR - IMA
SIR is working on behalf of Kunskapsstyrningen to develop a solution for reporting and displaying intermediary care data. The purpose is to collect data for monitoring and improving care and comparisons with a focus on good and equal care.
Progress report:
- Basic dataset - the variables
A basic dataset is being developed based on the Guidance published by the NAG Intermediary Care in November 2023. SIR welcomes comments and suggestions for additions. At this stage there is still an opportunity to influence the content.
Guidance for organization and competence in intermediary care (kunskapsstyrningvard.se) - Registration on the ward
This can be done using the registration tool already used by intensive care units in the hospital concerned. Contact them for more information on local solutions. SIR can also provide tips on alternatives. -
Technical solution for reporting
SIR's IT supplier is developing an API solution to receive data in XML format. A routine for validating and handling data is in place at each hospital that supplies data to SIR today. The local informatics unit provides support to set up the routine for intermediary care. -
Intermediary care unit
You participate in the registration of intermediary care data as a member of SIR. The sending facility is called an “intermediary care unit” and can be a distinct part of a larger unit or a stand-alone IMU. SIR recommends that existing ICUs continue to be members and provide data in the current format to avoid fragmentation of care and increased administrative burden. -
Financial cost
The financial picture will depend on the number of care episodes reported. Current fees for membership and data management are not decided at this stage. -
Start date
SIR intends to start receiving intermediary care data from 01/01/2025
