Medical Emergency Team - MET
The Guidelines for Care Request - Intensive Care Registration with or without Medical Emergency Team (MET) has been updated. NEWS2 is now available as a rating scale.
NEWS2, which is based on the British model and nationally anchored in Sweden through projects with LÖF (the County Council's Mutual Insurance Company) and some twenty medical organizations, including SFAI (Swedish Society of Anesthesia and Intensive Care). NEWS2 has different assessments depending on whether the patient has normal lung function or a habitually low oxygen saturation. Added oxygen and measured oxygen saturation give different points in the risk categorization. A special scale has been developed for pregnant women.
