The National Board of Health and Welfare and SFOG (Swedish Association for Obstetrics and Gynaecology) inform
The classification unit at the National Board of Health and Welfare together with SFOG recommends supplementing the diagnostic coding for COVID-19 (U07.1) with a code indicating that the patient is pregnant where applicable. For pregnant women who do not have a obstetric cause of care (and other O-code), the code O98.8W "Other specified infectious disease during pregnancy" has been chosen.
This recommendation also applies to registration with SIR. It is an already existing ICD-10 code so no updates to computer systems likely need to be made.
