Donation register - New regulation

The EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Personal Data Act (PUL) on May 25

In connection with the EU data protection regulation (GDPR) replacing the Personal Data Act (PUL) on May 25 2018, a regulation on donation registers enters into force. The regulation entails a regulation of the register, which is a requirement according to GDPR. It also means that qualified personnel can earlier search the donation register than today. It may happen after two licensed doctors have decided not to initiate or continue life support treatment, which must be documented in the patient record. The regulation also means that anyone under the age of 15 can decide whether they want to be registered in the donation register without the consent of the custodian. Custodians may report children up to 15 years of age.
