Change in the law could allow for more organ donations

The new regulations mean, among other things, that medical interventions before death, so-called organ preservation treatment, are now regulated by law. The hope is that the change in the law will save more lives through transplantation.

The change makes it clearer how healthcare should act. The new rules on organ donation will enter into force on 1 July 2022. The aim is to strengthen the conditions for donation and thereby increase the number of organ donations.
